Donation Request for GKHS Students
PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) is a school-wide initiative designed to promote positive behavior and create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. We believe that by fostering a positive school culture, we can help students develop important life skills, such as respect, responsibility, and perseverance.
Students are awarded COGS bucks from their teachers and support staff anytime they are seen doing something positive. Examples include:
Student helping out another student
Student who asks a really great question in class
Picking up trash in the lunch room that is not theirs, etc
The COGS bucks can then be redeemed for small items on a treat cart. They can also be used during special lunch events that include popcorn, nachos, or ice cream. Or students can save up their COGS bucks and cash them during our end of the quarter/semester events for raffle tickets.
“I think PBIS is great because it rewards good behavior. It makes me proud when I do something good” - Faith Johnson, GKHS student.
We are organizing raffles this year featuring a variety of exciting baskets filled with donated items. These baskets will be filled with a range of items students would enjoy. We are seeking donations from local businesses, organizations, and individuals to help us create these amazing raffle baskets. Your contributions will make a significant difference in supporting our students' success and well-being! Anything from:
Wireless earbuds
Gift cards
Sports items
Instant camera
Movie passes
Ipad or tablet
Fitness tracker
Art supplies
Portable speaker
Camping or outdoor gear
Video gaming accessories
Unique experiences
Anything a high school student would appreciate
If you are interested in donating an item or a gift card, please contact McKayla Snedeker (msnedeker@gkschools.org) or Christine Probst (cprobst@gkschools.org) or 815-784-5111
Thank you for your generosity and support. Together, we can make a positive impact on our community's youth.
Sincerely,
Genoa-Kingston High School PBIS Team
