The GKMS Community Impact Club, headed by Karmen Ewald, held a poppy poster competition here at GKMS again this year. They do this competition annually at the end of the school year for Memorial Day. The winners were awarded cash prizes Thursday morning by Carol Hencken and Janet Bacon. Janet Bacon is part of the Women's Auxiliary in Genoa and with the VFW. The winning poster will be hanging at the VFW just in time for Memorial Day. Congratulations to the following winners:

- 12 X 18 white poster paper
- Must include at least 1 red poppy flower
- Must include the words American Legion Auxiliary
- Represents why we honor and observe Memorial Day
- All words spelled correctly
- All poster must be original (no copying off the internet)
