More Than Moody Cover

Attention parents of teenagers: Genoa-Kingston has been offered the opportunity to have parents in our community participate in an upcoming presentation/discussion regarding suicide.

More Than Moody Flyer

Suicide is the second leading cause of death for children, adolescents, and young adults ages 15 to 24. Yet this important topic is one we often feel uncomfortable talking about. Here to explain why a discussion can in fact provide assurance, is world-renowned psychiatrist Dr. Harold Koplewicz.

Join us when this important author will discuss the growing problem of teenage depression in America and offer helpful guidelines for parents on how to recognize the difference between normal teenage angst, anger, disappointment, sadness, versus true depression. Dr. Koplewicz will also discuss the role of family history, rejection, and impulsivity, and parents will learn how to recognize the warning signs, demystify the treatment process, and break down the stigma.

Join us and learn how to prevent and counteract the general anxiety and emotional fragility prevalent in children and teenagers today and gain an understanding of how to best provide children with steady and warm emotional nourishment on the path toward independence and strength.

Sessions are offered at:
