The GKMS 8th Grade Students are taking the Illinois Science Assessment next Wednesday, March 19. Please see the 5 Steps for Families to Support Testing Document. Students will need to bring their wired headphones. Thank you for your support.


The GKMS Drama Club presents Murder on the 518, a family friendly mystery that will keep audiences guessing until the train pulls into the station!
Performances will be this Friday March 7th at 6:30 pm and Saturday March 8th at 2 pm. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for students. Come watch as a group of eccentric travelers are faced with finding a murderer in their midst before they reach their final destination- hold on tight it's quite the ride!

Learning, teaching and history! As part of a learning experience, seventh grade students researched milestone events in African American history and became the teachers—sharing their knowledge with their peers. 💡🎤
This project not only deepened their understanding but also celebrated the impact of these moments.

GKMS student council is hosting a raffle! There will be three chances to win a basket with a variety of goodies! One ticket, $1 or 8 tickets for $5. Tickets can be purchased before or after school in the front foyer.
Drawings will take place during the PM announcements on Friday, February 14.


This week at Genoa-Kingston Middle School students are learning how to use AEDs and give CPR! They recapped these skills with a visit from the American Heart Association. They played games and learned more about the heart!
Any Middle or High School student interested in taking CPR training can sign up through Mrs. Thurlby, Middle School Physical Education Teacher, for $20 a student.
Students can pick one of the following session dates:
- Wednesday, February 19 | 3:00-6:00 PM
- Monday, March 3 | 3:00-6:00 PM
- Thursday, March 6 | 3:00-6:00 PM
Students can pick up a form with more information from Mrs. Thurlby at GKMS or Ms. D'Amato at GKHS.

Due to the canceled school day we had on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, we will use Thursday, May 29, 2025 as a make up day. Students last attendance day will now be on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.


Our Middle School eSports Club crushed their 5-hour Minecraft Marathon fundraiser, raising nearly $800 in pledges! 🏆👏 Thank you to everyone who donated and cheered them on!
