Week of September 19, 2022
Literacy
This week in Ready Gen we will finish reading Frog and Toad Together and we will begin Time to Sleep. The focus of unit one has been fiction and nonfiction text that is about animals. We have learned about friendship in the fiction text and animal facts in the nonfiction text.
Phonics
This week we will review and apply the sounds we have covered so far this quarter. This week we will practice reading and spelling with these sounds:
Focus: v, y, z, zz, qu, u
Review: m, s, t, c/k, p, n, short a: f, b, g, short i, d,l,ll,h, short o, r, w, j, k, e
Tricky Words of the Week
Each quarter we will focus on 25 fry words. Students will practice reading and writing these words. Mastering these words helps students become more fluent in their reading. If your student has mastered these words please focus on spelling the words as well. We will be expecting students to read and spell these 25 words by the end of the first quarter.

Math
We will begin topic 2 addition and subtraction to 10. Our focus math fact this week is +4.
Important Information
-Our school hours are 8:00-2:50 each day.
-Continue to check See Saw for updates.
-Continue to Send a light jacket/sweatshirt, water bottle, and two snacks with your student each day.
-If your student will be absent please let the office know.
-October 19 is picture day.
