Week of September 11, 2023
Important Information
-Please contact the office if your student will not be at school.
-Please have your student complete 4 days of math facts and 4 days of reading using the homework binder. Initial the September calendar for each day your student completes this.
Literacy
In Ready Gen we will be reading Frog and Toad Together. This story teaches the importance of friendship. We will be focusing on characters, setting and retelling.
Phonics
This week we will review and apply the sounds we have covered so far this quarter.
We will practice reading and spelling with these sounds:
m, s, t, c/k, p, n, short a: f, b, g, short i, d,l,ll,h, short o
Tricky Words of the Week
Each quarter we will focus on 25 fry words. Students will practice reading and writing these words. Mastering these words helps students become more fluent in their reading and writing.
This week we will review the words we have covered so far.
Focus: as, with, his, they, I
Review: the, of, and, a, to,in, is, you, that, it, he, was, for on, are
Math
We will finish with topic 1: Word Problems. We will begin topic 2 which is addition and subtraction facts to 10. Our focus math facts this week are +1 and +2.

Palabras difíciles de la semana
Cada trimestre nos centraremos en 25 palabras de alevines. Los estudiantes practicarán la lectura y la escritura de estas palabras. Dominar estas palabras ayuda a los estudiantes a tener más fluidez en su lectura y escritura.
Esta semana repasaremos las palabras que hemos cubierto hasta ahora.

Reseña: el, de, y, a, a, en, es, usted, que, eso, él, era, para en, son
Matemáticas
Terminaremos con el tema 1: Problemas verbales. Comenzaremos el tema 2, que son las operaciones de suma y resta hasta 10. Nuestras operaciones matemáticas de enfoque esta semana son +1 y +2.
