Week of September 5, 2023
Important Information
-Our school hours are 8:10-2:50 each day.
-Please send two healthy snacks and a spill proof water bottle with your student.
-Please check See Saw for classroom updates.
-Open House is this Thursday 6:30-7:45
-Remember if your student will be absent please let the school office know,
-Homework starts this week. Please keep your binder intact and at home. At the end of September you will return the September calendar. Initial for each day your student reads 15 minutes and completes a math fact page. The calendar should be sent back to school at the end of the month.
Our learning focus this week
Literacy
This week we will be reading books about being a student and a kind friend. In Ready Gen we will finish the book Stellaluna and we will begin Frog and Toad are Friends.
Phonics
This week we will review and apply the sounds we have covered so far this quarter. This week we will practice reading and spelling with these sounds:
Focus: m, s, t, c/k, p, n, short a, f, b, g, short i
Tricky Words of the Week
Each quarter we will focus on 25 fry words. Students will practice reading and writing these words. Mastering these words helps students become more fluent in their reading.
This week we will review the words we have covered so far.

Math
We will continue with topic 1: Word Problems. Our focus math fact this week is +2.
Spanish Translation
-Nuestro horario escolar es de 8:00 a 2:50 todos los días.
-Por favor envíe dos refrigerios saludables y una botella de agua a prueba de derrames con su estudiante.
-Consulte See Saw para obtener actualizaciones sobre el aula.

Nuestro enfoque de aprendizaje esta semana
Literatura
Esta semana leeremos libros sobre cómo ser un estudiante y un amigo amable. En Ready Gen terminaremos el libro Stellaluna y comenzaremos Frog and Toad are Friends.
Fónica
Esta semana revisaremos y aplicaremos los sonidos que hemos cubierto hasta ahora este trimestre. Esta semana practicaremos lectura y ortografía con estos sonidos:
Revisión: m, s, t, c/k, p, n, a corta, f, b, g, i corta
Palabras difíciles de la semana
Cada trimestre nos centraremos en 25 palabras de alevines. Los estudiantes practicarán la lectura y la escritura de estas palabras. Dominar estas palabras ayuda a los estudiantes a tener más fluidez en su lectura.
Esta semana repasaremos las palabras que hemos cubierto hasta ahora.
Enfoque: como, con, el suyo, ellos, yo.
Reseña: el, de, y, a, a, en, es, usted, que, eso, él, era, para en, son
Matemáticas
Continuaremos con el tema 1: Problemas verbales. Nuestra operación matemática de enfoque esta semana es +2.
