Following six years as superintendent of Genoa-Kingston School District #424, Mr. Brent O’Daniell has announced his resignation effective on June 30, 2023.
Since joining the district in 2017, O’Daniell has spearheaded and led advancements in communication, program and personnel evaluation, and guided the district through the very difficult pandemic years.
“It has been an honor to serve the community in this leadership role for the past 6 years,” said O’Daniell. “I am extremely proud of everything we have accomplished together at the district in preparing our students to excel and contribute to our community.”
Mr. O’Daniell has been actively involved in the community as a Kiwanis Club member, a visible supporter of community and school district events, and also at the State level with the Illinois Association of School Administrators.
Mr. O’Daniell will be the joining the Beardstown CUSD #15 on July 1, 2023 as Superintendent. Beardstown CUSD #15 is located in West Central Illinois with an enrollment of approximately 1,400 students across 3 campuses.
The school board will be holding a Special Board of Education meeting on Monday, April, 3, 2023 at 5:30 PM to discuss the search for Mr. O'Daniell’s successor.
