Ammolite was first recognized by the International Colored Gemstone Commission in 1981 as a new organic gemstone and is considered as the rarest gemstone in the world. It is named Ammolite from the Egyptian god names after Ammon. It is mainly made out of fossilized ammonites, the same mineral that makes up pearls.

             The colors in Ammolite vary from several. Some are the spectral colors in  nature, and some are the primary colors such as red and green, and some hues, crimson or violet or gold. Those are the highest in demand in Ammolite mining. Ammolite can be used as a pendants, earrings, brooches, and rings. They usually are made with either diamonds or gold.
