The skate board was invented in the 1960-1970's by a guy named Larry Stevenson. A skate board is made of several parts one is the deck. The deck is made of wood and is covered in with grip tape. Another part is the truck. Its made of metal and is connected to the wheel and deck. The top of the truck is screwed into and is called base plate, and beneath the base plate is the hanger.
Between the base plate and the hanger are bushings also rubber or grommets. Another part is the wheels. They attach to each hanger. The wheels are usually polyurethane, and come in 9 different sizes. Another part of the skateboard is the bearings.
