Football was adapted  from the English sports rugby and soccer. At the end of the 1800's people started liking football. Back then they had no rules or much padding.

       Walter Camp is credited with setting up the first rules and game of football. The first game was in 1869, played by the colleges Rutgers and Princeton.

It was played by colleges, and some professional teams were formed.

      In the 1900's it was completely different! The sport erupted with passion. It was safer than ever before and people enjoyed it immensely.
