Organized Cheerleading dates all the way back to 1898. But in 1865 at Princeton the first Pep-Club was formed with the first-known cheer "Tah rah rah Tiger Tiger Tiger Sis sis sis Boom boom boom Aaaahhhhh! Princton! Princeton! Princeton!"

The first ever known cheerleader was a first year medical student jack Campbell from Minnesota University. He came up with this famous cheer. 'Rah Rah Rah! Ski-U-Mah Hoo-Rah Hoo-Rah! Varsity! Varsity! Minn-e-so-tah!"'

In the 1920's tumbling and stunting became involved in cheerleading. In the early 1900's the mega-phone came in to use. And the pom pon was created by Lawrence Herkimer in the 1930's.
