Jefferson County

Jefferson county was named after Thomas Jefferson, third president of the united stats and author of the Declaration of Independence. He was born April 13, 1743 and he died July 4, 1826

The county house is in  Mt. Vernon.
Rend Lake is partially in Jefferson County.
