Lee County was named after Richard  Henry Lee. He was a member of the Continental Congress. He was also a senator from Virginia. Lee County's county seat  is the city Dixon, which is the city where President Regan was born.

Lee county was formed out of Ogle County in 1839. Lee County also has very fertile land; this land is wonderful for farming. This county also includes the Rock River. This is a wonderful place to go fishing and paddling. There are many fish including largemouth bass, white bass, green sunfish and more.
