LaSalle County is named after Robert de la Salle. He was a French explorer that sailed down the Mississippi river to the Gulf of Mexico. He was killed by his own men in 1687. LaSalle County is located In the northern part of Illinois. LaSalle is also located just southwest of Chicago.

Some major cities in LaSalle County are: LaSalle, Seneca, Sheridan, Peru, Cedar Point, Mendota, and Serena. There are also many different interesting places to visit in LaSalle County such as: Starved Rock State Park, which have great canyons, that are cut off by the Illinois river. There are also hiking trails, canoe rentals, boat rentals, and boat rides. There is a lodge to stay in, camping, guided hikes and  a visitor center.
There is also a Illini State Park in LaSalle County. It is a 500 acre park with wildlife, fishing, hiking, biking, cross country, skiing and more.
