Ford County

        Ford County is located on the middle east section of Illinois. It was originally part of Vermilion County. Its name came from Thomas Ford ( also known as the eighth governor). He served from December 8, 1842 to December 9, 1846.
       
        Ford County is home to a large number of cities and towns. A list of these include Cabery, Elliott, Gibson City, Kempton, Melvin, Paxton, Piper City, Roberts, Sibley, and Stelle.

         Ford County's county seat is in Paxton, IL 60957.
