The Grey/Gray Wolf

A gray wolf born to a Wisconsin wolf pack in 2002 was found dead earlier that year in east central Indiana during its migration. According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, shows that there is a strong state wolf population. These wolves eat fish from river areas.

If people did not know, grey wolves are one of the many wolves that do migrate. The grey/gray wolves look similar to dogs, but they do not act very much like them. They act better in packs than most dogs do. A number of subspecies have been identified though the actual number is still open for discussion. They are the biggest species of wolves.

Defenders of Wildlife, an environmental group has petitioned the federal government to designate 16 million acres of national forests and parks in Northern California and southern Oregon as suitable wolf habitat for study and management purposes. In Idaho the wolves that live there migrate into Oregon. Oregon also has its own strict rules about wolves migration.
