Paprika is a spice made from the grinding of dried sweet red bell peppers. The seasoning is used in many cuisines to add color and flavor to dishes. It is used as an ingredient in a broad variety of dishes all around the world. It may be smoked for additional flavor. In India, a similar powdered spice comes from a fruit locally called “deghi mirchi”. Paprika is used in dishes such as chicken paprikash and goulash. It’s also used in many Spanish products such as chorizo; Spanish, Portuguese, and Turkish recipes use it for soups, stews, and casseroles. |
