Nutmeg is a spice that is produced from the seed inside the fruit of the Myristica fragrans plant. The plant originates in the island of Banda which is the larges of the Moluucca spice islands of Indonesia.  Nutmeg is most commonly used on deserts but can also be used in sweet and spicy foods.
