Chives are herbs and have a mild onion taste. They are very slender and green. Chives do have some medical qualities. Chives also belong in the onion family. They are used in foods like tacos, potatoes, eggs, and salads. You can basically use all of the herb when eating them. You don’t have to eat the bottoms but it makes no difference. They’re all long green stems from top to bottom.
