Text Box: Catnip is a perennial herb of the mint family. Catnip also called Catnip, is an herb, it is very attractive to cats. It is also a member of the Mint family. The Catnip leaves and stems are fuzzy, like Sage. Text Box: When cats are exposed to the stems or leaves of the Catnip plant, they will paw at it, chew it, lick it, and leap. Some cats will even meow more than usual.  This reaction only lasts for a few minutes, and then the cat will lose interest.  After two to three hours the cat will display the same behavior again.  Only about two thirds of cats will display this reaction.
