Bucky Balls

Buckminsterfullerene, also known as Bucky balls, are the newest form of carbon atoms discovered around 1985. Buckminster Fuller was a famous scientist which Buckminsterfullerene was named after.

 

Scientists have found that Bucky balls have been known to ruin fish and human brain cells. But, it is more common in fish. They are only 10 thousandths of the width of a strand of hair. If looked at through a microscope, they very closely resemble a soccer ball. They’re made up of 20 hexagons and 12 pentagons.
