COMPUTERS IN THE L.C.
The learning center has 30 computers, with the possibility of adding a few more. Mrs. Gale will provide instruction on how to use the various Encyclopedia CDs and the Internet when a teacher brings his/her class to the L.C. The Internet must be used for school related assignment. Students are not allowed to e-mail or download information from the internet. It will cost ten cents a page to print.
A COMPUTER CONTRACT MUST BE SIGNED BEFORE USING ANY COMPUTER IN THE LEARNING CENTER!

NORTHERN ILLINOIS LIBRARY SYSTEM (NILS)
Genoa-Kingston High School is a member of NILS. Materials that are available for borrowing are magazines, individual book titles, or collections of books.
NILS CatT (INTERLIBRARY LOAN)
This database accesses 86 libraries. They include public, school, junior college libraries in Northern Illinois. We are able to borrow books through the interlibrary loan program. (Turn around time in receiving materials is two days to two weeks.)
NEWSPAPERS
We subscribe to five newspapers: Chicago Tribune, DeKalb Daily Chronicle, Rockford Register Star, Midweek, and the Genoa Journal.
USE OF REFERENCE MATERIALS
Any reference books may be checked out after last period and must be returned to Mrs. Gale before first hour of the next school day.
COPY MACHINE
A copy machine is available for student use at 10 cents a page.
