Athletic Trainer |
Athletic trainers are highly skilled professionals who serve as an integral part of a complete athletic program. Athletic trainers are medical experts in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries from physical activity. Athletic trainers can help you avoid unnecessary medical treatment and disruption of normal daily life. Because an athletic trainer's responsibilities are varied, he or she must have a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, psychology, hygiene, nutrition, taping, strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and protective equipment. Athletic training is recognized by the American Medical Association as an allied health care profession. As part of a complete health care team, the athletic trainer works in cooperation with other health care professionals. |
