PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Welcome to Kingston Elementary School, home of the second and third graders in Genoa Kingston District 424. This year our students are participating in a learning adventure with back-to-school activities centered on our space theme “Blast Off Into Learning at KES!” and “ Kingston Kids Are Out of This World!”.

At KES, we strive to provide students with an educational program based on the state standards and best instructional practices. This year all of our certified staff members are continuing training in the Model Classrooms Project that focuses on implementing research based methods. The KES faculty is also continuing to read and discuss a title on Best Practices during our faculty meetings.

In addition to academics, we believe that it is important that students develop strong character traits. This school year we are implementing the CHARACTER COUNTS! program focusing on a trait each month such as friendship, trustworthiness and respect. We will also conduct several community service projects throughout the school year. By emphasizing both the academic and social aspects of learning, we support our district mission statement “Preparing students to excel and contribute to their community.”
